In early autumn 2024, at a film festival mingle, Matilda turned to Sophia and said, “Shouldn’t we team up as composers? With your expertise in electronic scores, combined with my melodies and orchestral style, imagine the scores we could create.”

“Ah, like playing tennis,” Sophia replied, “bouncing musical balls back and forth.”
“EXACTLY!” Matilda said, and so TENNIS was born.

With their collective experience exceeding 20> years in the music and film industries, they have garnered prestigious awards and accolades. They collaborate with prominent platforms such as Netflix, ZDF, Viaplay, CMORE, and SVT, alongside independent filmmakers throughout Scandinavia, the United States, Canada, and beyond.

SOPHIA ERSSON is a multi-awarded virtuoso in crafting electronic epic, dreamy, or eerie Carpenter-esque scores. She has earned acclaim for her evocative work on projects like CALIPHATE and GIRLS LOST (TIFF, CANNES, BFI, and more) and has also been featured in various acclaimed magazines such as Variety and The Hollywood Reporter.

MATILDA BÅDAGÅRD, a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and exceptional string musician (and arranger), is often compared to composers such as Johann Johansson and Hildur Guðnadóttir.

She combines her skills to create organic ease that ranges from intimate and raw to rich, bold, and powerful pieces, as exemplified in GLACIER and other acclaimed film projects in Scandinavia, the US, and Canada. Matilda is also an award-winning touring artist and songwriter, who has written music across various genres, including folk, indie, rock, pop, and jazz.
